All over the world, for many years now, farmers have been finding it harder to stay farmers. Agriculture has become more about infrastructure and industry, and less about people and food. There is enough cause for concern for you and I, whether about the health of soil and the safety of pesticide-ridden food, the energy-inefficient methods of industrial agriculture or about the thousands of farmers in debt and distress all over the world.
EatLocal was born out of this realisation that we wanted to - needed to - be a part of the solution in some way. Our contribution has been to create a platform, primarily digital, on which farmers, CSAs, Cooperatives, or Farmers’ Markets can communicate with their members/subscribers, and carry out administrative and logical tasks. We’re of the opinion that sustainable agriculture and responsible consumption shouldn’t have to be hard work.
EatLocal was earlier known as CSA HealthBox. This change in the brand name asked for the transformation in the brand's identity. As I underwent the explorative process of logo making, many MANY options and the wildest thoughts were penned and illustrated to reach the simplest possible answer, all of which have been collected and poured on this page.
The process started with doodles on the paper with random keywords that could relate the EatLocal.

Doodles that seemed and were voted closest to the idea of EatLocal were then digitized and improved on.

And finally an identity was decided and adapted.
